[ARCHIVED] UPDATE: Pool reopens Mon., Aug 3

CPP Temporary Closure 20200801

UPDATE 8/2: Staff received a negative test result. Carter Park Pool will reopen on Monday, August 3rd at 12:00pm. Thanks for your patience.

Effective immediately, we are temporarily closing the Carter Park Pool. One of our pool staff members has been in brief proximity with an individual who tested COVID-19 positive. The interaction did not occur at the Carter Park Pool, but this action is being taken to protect the health of the Ashland community. Our staff member is waiting on the test result, but as of this publication has NOT received a positive test result.

A part of the pool staff’s daily schedule is to clean each surface touched by the public every thirty minutes. In addition to this daily effort, all surfaces at the pool complex will be sanitized during this temporary closure.

The health and safety of our community is our top priority. We will continue to promote the following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

  • Stay at home if you are sick, have been in close proximity to someone displaying symptoms associated with COVID-19, and/or someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, even if asymptomatic.
  • Wash your hands often and do not share items with people you do not live with.
  • Stay at least six (6) feet away, both in and out of the water, from people you do not live with.
