Internships for Local Businesses

Program Overview
Welcome to the Town of Ashland’s Internships for Local Businesses program for connecting businesses in Ashland with college talent at Randolph-Macon College. The Economic Development Authority (EDA) of the Town of Ashland is pleased to offer this incentive to encourage our local businesses to take advantage of the talent pipeline available through Randolph-Macon College.
This incentive provides a reimbursement of not more than $500 toward the wages for an intern placed through Randolph-Macon College’s The Edge Career Center. This program is available on first-come, first-served basis to qualified businesses.
In addition to this reimbursement program by the EDA, Randolph-Macon College offers unpaid internships for academic credit through the Basset Academic Internship program, additional paid and unpaid internships through The Edge Career Center and general employment opportunities which may be posted through the Financial Aid office.

It’s as easy as 1 – 2 – 3 – 4
After preparing your internship job description, submit your internship request on this website. We'll confirm by email that you are qualified to receive a reimbursement award upon the successful completion of an internship placement.
You will be contacted by a placement coordinator from The Edge Career Center. Together you’ll identify the best internship talent for your organization, interview candidates, and make an internship placement offer.
You will continue working with The Edge Career Center throughout the semester to ensure the internship is productive for both you and the intern. At the conclusion of the semester, following your submittal of The Edge’s evaluation form, submit your request for reimbursement along with the required wage documentation to the Town via this website. Upon verification that all the requirements have been met, the EDA will issue you a reimbursement check (maximum $500).
